Women of Aliyah: A Journey of Support and Connection

By Mindy Rubenstein, M.A.

Three years ago, my family and I made Aliyah from Florida. While the journey is full of blessings, there were and continue to be challenges and moments that test our strength.

This week, my son began his army service, a milestone that reminded me as a Jewish mom just how deeply intertwined personal and national journeys can be in Israel.

Aliyah is not something we finish; it is a path we continue to walk.

Whether you’ve been here for a few days, a few years, or a few decades, the experience shifts and evolves.

My dear friend Miriam, who came to Israel 65 years ago, still speaks about the unique stages and lessons each chapter brings.

Out of this recognition, the Women of Aliyah Center was born.

Based in Zichron Yaakov, the Center serves women across the region — Haifa, Hadera, Nahariya, the Galilee, the Golan, and beyond.

We provide no-cost support and guidance to help women thrive personally, professionally, and spiritually.

Appointments can be scheduled online or in person. And our growing online support group connects women across Israel who understand the ups and downs of Aliyah (ask me for the link to join).

Plus, the Women of Aliyah Magazine (coming soon) and Blog serve as platforms to amplify our voices and stories.

Through writing and sharing, we create a community where women can learn from each other’s journeys, celebrate successes, and offer strength during challenges.

How You Can Get Involved

At the Women of Aliyah Center, we believe that support, connection, and creativity are the keys to thriving in Israel. Here are a few ways to take part:

1. Schedule a Call or Meeting

Start with a 15-minute call (online) or an in-person meeting at our center in Zichron Yaakov. This first step is a simple way to share your story and see how we can support you and what you can offer the group.

2. Write for Our Blog

Have a story or insight to share? Contribute to the Women of Aliyah Blog and let your voice inspire other women walking the same journey.

3. Join Our Weekly Online Gatherings

  • Creative Tuesdays – Writing, painting, or simply making space to create together.
  • Networking Wednesdays – Build friendships, exchange ideas, and grow personal and professional connections.

Both gatherings meet online at 7:00 PM Israel time.

Be part of a growing community of women supporting women.
