Lately, I’ve been thinking about the power of stillness. Not just the quiet of a room or the absence of sound, but the deeper kind—the kind that settles in your soul when you pause, breathe, and connect.

Living in Israel, life is anything but slow. The energy, the passion, the constant movement—it’s invigorating but can also be overwhelming. And in the midst of it all, I’ve realized that stillness isn’t something that just happens; it’s something we create.
For me, stillness comes in small moments: a sunrise over the Mediterranean, the whisper of the wind through the trees, the flickering of Shabbat candles. It comes in deep breaths, in prayers spoken and unspoken, in those seconds before dawn when the world is hushed.
It’s in these moments that I feel most connected—to myself, to God, to the unseen hands that guide us. It’s where I hear the wisdom of the women before me, where I find the strength to move forward, where I remember that I am not alone.
Stillness isn’t about doing nothing. It’s about being present. It’s about allowing ourselves to listen—not just to the world around us but to the voice within.
So today, I invite you to pause. To find a pocket of stillness in your day. Maybe it’s in a deep breath, a quiet prayer, or a moment of gratitude. Maybe it’s in the way the sunlight filters through your window or the way your heartbeat slows when you truly listen.
In a world that constantly demands more, let’s remember that sometimes, the most powerful thing we can do is simply be.
