Prayer through Writing

In our busy lives, especially as Jewish women, we often carry emotional burdens without even realizing it.

Shabbat gives us an opportunity to pause, breathe, and replenish our souls.

One powerful way to prepare for this special time is through writing—which helps us process our thoughts and feelings, bringing clarity and peace.

Writing and journaling can be a form of prayer, a way to connect with our inner selves and with the Divine.

Before Shabbat, I like to take a few minutes to journal. Clarify my prayers, express gratitude, and release any struggles.

Then I light my candles, welcoming this oasis in time.

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul” (Psalm 23:1-3).

May this Shabbat restore your soul and bring you peace.

Shabbat Shalom, with love, from the Land of Israel
