Lag B’Omer and the Flames Within

Sending love from the Holy Land, our homeland, this Lag B’Omer. 💙

My family and I made Aliyah in September, so it’s our first year in Israel.

And while this land is infused with innate holiness, I don’t always feel spiritual.

So I get to choose—not how I feel, but how I act.

The mystical holiday of Lag B’Omer is traditionally celebrated with bonfires. It’s a chance to spark our own internal flames, leading to external acts of kindness.

No matter how far away we may be from holiness or how far we feel from G-d, a spark of divinity always burns within.

Our lights never, ever go out. They’re just waiting to be kindled.

May the fire of our love for G‑d be outwardly revealed—not only in a private dialogue.

May kindness show on our faces and in our actions.

May the fires of Lag B’omer elicit the eternal flames of heaven, infusing Godliness into us and the world.

May our personal and collective pain, when expressed properly, lead to revealed goodness and love…
