My son and I went on an adventure today and spent some rare one-on-one time together.
We tried to go to Alro’i Spring but ended up first in the Carmel Forest, where we came across the Hemesh burial caves.
Eventually we made it to Alro’i, hiking there with some other Israelis who traveled up from Tel Aviv and Beer Sheva.
We live in the north near the enchanting and mysterious Mount Carmel.
Since biblical times, Mount Carmel has been considered a holy place and a symbol of beauty and fertility.
The prophet Isaiah associates the “splendor of Carmel” with God’s redemption of humanity (Isaiah 35:2).
After so many years of wandering, I’m so grateful to be living in Eretz Hakodesh, the Holy Land. It’s literally the best place on earth, our true home.
